Housing Disrepair Newcastle is a Newcastle-based firm of solicitors specialising in housing disrepair claims for tenants across the North East. We act only for tenants — never for landlords.
Our story.
We were founded in 2015 by solicitors who were tired of seeing tenants ignored. The pattern was always the same: a family would report damp, mould or a leak, the landlord would make a patch repair, the problem would return, and eventually the family gave up. Meanwhile, the children would be coughing through winter, the damp would eat through belongings, and no one was held accountable.
Since then we have helped 3,500+ tenants recover £12M+ in compensation, and forced social landlords across the North East to do the repairs they should have done years earlier.
Why we act only for tenants.
Housing disrepair is one of the few areas of law where the imbalance of power is enormous — on one side a tenant, on the other a council or housing association with in-house legal teams. We chose to specialise here because the work matters. We will not take instructions from landlords or property management companies. Not now, not ever.
